One of the things that i love about my Fujifilm S7000 Digital Camera is its amazing macro mode. It has one of the best macro modes out there. With its super macro mode i like to get really close to the subject and i mean really close. I can shoot from about 1cm from the subject and there were instances where my lens was actually in contact with the subject , that’s how close.

Here are some tips on shooting close objects:

  • Most cameras have a built in macro mode which can be activated by the push of a button(one with the flower on it), use this while closing in on the subject.
  • When u get really close to the subject the depth of field or the area infront and behind the subject which is in good focus, is shallow. This isolates the subject from the background which helps u focus on what u want to show. But if you prefer that the background also be in focus then u need to do a couple of things. The subject should be well illuminated and your camera if it supports should be in aperture priority mode. Put the aperture to the smallest a value of f/11 or f/16 should do.
  • While shooting in macro mode it is better not to use the optical view finder…because the viewfinder and the camera CCD are in different positions so it can lead to Parallax error. So use the LCD.
  • If you own a D-SLR then to get best results go for a macro lens.

Well here are some of the images that i took with my camera.
